A slow news day so here's another plug for CCInform to which all students now have access (see previous post for details on how to access the service).
One of the enquiries which students regularly make is for information on a particular piece of legislation, as trying to make sense of an Act of Parliament can be a tricky task unless you're a legal professional. So if you're in this situation, try taking a look at the 'Legislation' section of the CCInform site; here you will find digests for 17 different Acts (at last count), which explain the meaning of each paragraph in simple terms.
Some of the laws which have received this treatment include the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, Children and Adoption Act 2006, Childcare Act 2006, Carers (Equal Opportunities) Act 2004 and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. You can expect to see others added to the existing list in the near future.
