A new report from the Sutton Trust argues that social mobility in England lags behind many other developed countries. The research, which focussed on the link between the education levels of parents and their teenage offspring, concluded that while there had been an improvement during the period of Labour government, it is still necessary to explore options to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children.
