The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has just published a guidance document entitled Social and Emotional Wellbeing: Early Years. The document describes itself as "for all those responsible for ensuring the social and emotional wellbeing of children aged under 5 years", and examines how early intervention programmes can ensure that vulnerable children are given a good start in life.
