Today's post concerns a new report from the national charity
Grandparents Plus. The organisation recently commssioned Yougov to survey the public and parents to establish the contribution that grandparents make towards childcare, and how this role could be better recognised. Among the report's conclusions are ideas for
'granny leave' and tax credits, a situation illustrated by
this BBC article which recounts the experiences of a grandmother who is currently helping to care for her daughter's children.
