Hello is a campaign to make 2011 the National Year of Communication. The idea behind the campaign is to increase understanding of how important it is for children and young people to develop good communication skills. Throughout the year, different months will focus on different themes to raise awareness of issues surrounding communication such as talking, listening, and the role that parents and teachers can play.
The campaign is backed by the Communication Trust, which is funded by the Department of Education. Those with an interest in children's speech and language should find that the publications page of their website has plenty of useful information.
