A major review from Ofsted has grabbed the headlines this morning, after it concluded that thousands of pupils are being wrongly labelled as having special educational needs. The report argues that as many as half of the 1.7 million children regarded as having special educational needs are wrongly diagnosed, and simply need better teaching or pastoral care.
